6G-LEGO: A framework for 6G network slices

Network slicing is a relatively recent paradigm that has become subject of intensive research. Most the existing approaches follow ETSI NFV MANO model with some extensions related to multi-domain slicing, slice selection, etc. The framework part standalone variant 5G network standardized by 3GPP. However, current implementation in several limitations, especially regarding management and orchestration: isolation not appropriately addressed, tenant capabilities are limited, orchestration centralization raises serious scalability reliability issues. Moreover, slice-level operations well-separated from other processes due lack proper separation concerns. As result, overall architecture complex interactions many components network. In this paper, we describe new uses an approach sustain self-managed self-orchestrated slices. To end, propose modular which slices have embedded (in-slice) support, rely on multiple slice-agnostic orchestrators. enables composition as combination single domain-slices easy, technology-independent manner.
